The Low Down | Donna aka Sulky Doll Styling

The latest interview in our Zakti Q&A is Donna aka SulkyDoll is a Fashion Editor and Stylist so she has her finger on the pulse, spending her days creating beautiful looks for her clients. Her ethos is all about ‘dressing for what makes you feel you’ and promises to make you the best version of you possible! We love this ethos and knew we had to chat to Donna about her life, work and staying balanced.

ZAKTI: Tell us about what you do?
I’m a stylist and Fashion Editor

ZAKTI: What is a working day like for you?
It varies hugely but I style shoots for look books and editorials, as well as personal styling for clients and events in my fave boutiques; I also write for a magazine so no two days look the same.

ZAKTI: What are your favourite pieces in your wardrobe?
My Donna Ida jeans and Rizzo in ‘Planetary’ are my current faves, as well as a tailored blazer, a good tee; and for going out my Rixo dress.

ZAKTI: What are your style-hacks to take you through all the activities in your day?
Sunnies and heels!

ZAKTI: How do you like to keep active?
I run, I do a barre class twice a week, and I do HIT and strength training once a week. Exercise is very important to me and I love it because it keeps me mentally and physically well.

ZAKTI: What do you like to wear when you’re being active?
Comfortable yet stylist pieces, I love my Zakti Active gear as it offers both.

ZAKTI: What are your top tips to keeping fit and healthy?
Drink plenty of water, always walk somewhere if you can, 20 minutes of exercise is better than 20 minutes on the couch. You just need to move.

ZAKTI: What’s your weekend style?
Again this depends on the occasion,  but boyfriend jeans with a sweatshirt and biker is my dressed down look.

ZAKTI: What do you do to unwind and stay balanced?
Exercise and spending time with those I love. But the odd glass of fizz is also good, everything in moderation including moderation.

ZAKTI: Which influencers do you admire?
I love Style mum, she has become a very good friend, and is a working mama like me but her look is very achievable and she has a great eye. I also love thefashionbugblog too, she is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and her pregnancy chic is incredible.

ZAKTI: We spotted you and your family in our Zakti gear, what did you like about this look?
My whole family is very active and I am always on the look out for sports wear that is stylish, comfortable, and hard wearing, Zakti delivers on all fronts.

ZAKTI: What’s next for you?
I am off on holiday at the end of August but I have a big end of year coming up, London Fashion Week for women is mid September so I will be heading to the shows and doing a round up for the magazine I write for. I have two very exciting shoots in the autumn, and some celebrity clients to style for a couple of big events, so there is a lot to look forward to.

We hope you enjoyed this insight into the life of a fashion stylist, check out the blog for more Zakti Q&A interviews.
